Methyl Groups and Autoimmunity

By: | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

None of these conditions drop out of the sky and land on a patient; there has to be a cause and the cause is depleted methyl groups. How do you test for adequate levels of HCL? By checking the patient’s blood work and looking at the total protein, serum globulin, BUN and phosphorous. If some or all are abnormal, you most likely have lower levels of HCL. How do you test for methyl groups? There is a specific urine test that you can run called the Basic Organic Acid test.

Conventional treatment is to give medications that trick the brain into thinking it has enough chemicals. But new research shows in many cases mental health issues are related to chronic inflammation, not necessarily a lack of chemicals, and unstable blood sugar is often at the root of inflammation. Structural Causes of Peripheral Neuropathy

By: | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

One of the things that has to be evaluated with chronic nerve pain or peripheral neuropathy is what is causing the problem.  One of the things that can cause nerves to be damaged or even to lose their function (which is what a neuropathy is) is a structural problem — specifically, in the spine, the vertebra or in  the disc between the spine. The nerves in the lower back control the legs down to the feet, and the nerves in the neck control the arms down to the hands.  Perhaps you have […]

The Wellness Connection December 2015

By: | Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

The Wellness Connection Newsletter December 2015 Issue Dr. Clark’s Corner Let us reflect for a moment on the miracle of Christmas. I’m not talking about Santa Claus, but about the true reason for Christmas being the birth of Christ, that God would become a man and dwell among us, according to John 1:14. Put Those Sleep Problems to Bed!

By: | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

How to Put Your Sleep Problems to Bed Simple, powerful tips to finally get a good night’s sleep   Avoid carbohydrate before-bed snacks such as grains and sugars. This will raise your blood sugar and cortisol and make falling asleep difficult. Later, when blood sugar drops too low (hypoglycemia), you might wake up and not be able to fall back asleep. DO eat a high-protein snack a few hours before bed. This can provide the L-tryptophan needed to produce melatonin and serotonin. For example, a piece of beef jerky or […]
