Are you tired of feeling this way? Are you tired of hearing that there is nothing else that can be done? Or worse than all of these, are you tired of hearing… “Your thyroid levels are normal now; your remaining symptoms can’t be from your thyroid?”
I am sure the biggest frustration is getting rushed in and out of your doctor’s visits…each visit, walking out with a new prescription and NO ANSWERS. Your thyroid dose goes up…but you probably continue to suffer with some or all of the effects of low thyroid. Why?
Thyroid disorders are a lifetime battle and for most a very frustrating battle. After reading this article you will see that it does not have to be a battle. What I am going to reveal has the potential to change your life forever. The thyroid replacement hormone model will never make you feel better, because it is based on a completely false premise:
“This faulty premise is that you can make up the lost thyroid function by replacing the deficiency of hormones with external hormones like Synthroid or Armour…”
This replacement approach MAY work for about 10% of hypothyroid sufferers, but it WILL fail to produce adequate results with the other 90%.
Getting Your Life Back From Autoimmunity
Learn how Functional and Integrative medicine differs from “traditional” medicine in its approach to supporting autoimmune conditions
Discover what causes could be affecting your insomnia – causes you may have never even considered.
Worldwide, the number one cause of low thyroid function is iodine deficiency, but it is NOT in the U.S. In the U.S. the number one cause is Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Thyroid. Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune attack against thyroid cells, meaning your body’s immune system is targeting and killing your own thyroid tissue.
Although Hashimoto’s can cause symptoms of hyperthyroidism, in most cases there is a slow gradual attack against the thyroid. This eventually leads to the loss of enough thyroid cells and function that it presents as primary hypothyroidism. When the thyroid does not work adequately, in this case because the cells are being destroyed, the pituitary gland (in your brain) increases the production of TSH as an attempt to increase thyroid gland activity.

Over time, people with autoimmune thyroid’s start to develop symptoms of low thyroid function, which will prompt them to have their thyroid checked by their medical doctor. When the TSH is measured, it is usually found to be elevated and then typically diagnosed as primary hypothyroidism. Patients are then placed on thyroid replacement hormone, for the rest of their life.
However, the question is never really asked, “Why did they become hypothyroid?”
So in a nutshell, you are guaranteed to fail with replacement hormones alone, because 90% of the time the primary mechanism is an autoimmune attack against the thyroid gland, and the replacement hormone does nothing to stop, slow down, or modulate this immune attack.
what our patient’s have to say
“When I first came to see Dr. Clark I was experiencing low back pain, fatigue, weight gain, inward trembling, and irritability. Dr. Clark and Dr. Kempinski evaluated my labs and determined that I had an autoimmune condition called Hashimoto’s. They recommended I become gluten and dairy free. Since following these recommendations I have more energy, I have lost 80 pounds, I began running, and just feel so much better. I have a better attitude and better outlook on life. I am very thankful I came to Clark Chiropractic.” – Cathryn
“I have suffered with insomnia for 5+ years. I have taken Ambien along with other sleep aids with no success. After one night of following Dr. Clark and Dr. Kempinski’s recommendations I slept approximately 9 hours with a significant decrease in restless sleep as well as time awake” – Lisa
“I began having difficulty staying asleep which progressed into not being able to fall asleep. I was only getting 2-3 hours of sleep each night. I began taking Benadryl every night just to get some sleep. After only 4 visits with Dr. Clark I have slept 8 nights without taking any Benadryl. I am grateful to God for directing me to Dr. Clark and for the wisdom he has for treating my insomnia.” – Danny
Supplements of the month
The immune system’s primary functions are to destroy anything that doesn’t belong in our body (viruses, bad bacteria, yeast, and parasites) and to remove cells that are dying and no longer serve us.
Autoimmune reactions occur when the immune system mistakenly attacks your own body. This can be an attack on ANY tissue in your body: enzyme (TPO enzyme in Hashimoto’s), your central nervous system (MS), cartilage (Rheumatoid Arthritis), and many others.
It is important to note that these reactions can occur for years before the autoimmune process has destroyed enough tissue to produce symptoms. When the symptoms finally appear, or when the blood tests finally cross outside the medical lab ranges, the process becomes a disease. It is only at this point that it gets recognized by your medical doctor, even though the process has been going on for years.
|Complimentary Thyroid recovery Consultation|
|This offer includes the following: ($285 value)
· Consultation with the doctor
· Complete structural and neurological examination
· Chiropractic X-rays (if needed)
· Thorough review of labs (within 6 months)
· Neurologic and Metabolic assessment
· Report of Findings
· Recovery Program Recommendations
It is vital to detect these reactions early on and “cut them off at the pass” before they get to the tissue destruction phase. The specialized testing that we order here is specifically for predicting and identifying autoimmune disorders in their early stage so that steps can be taken NOW, rather than years down the road. A blood test by Cyrex Labs measures to see if there are abnormal immune reactions against 96 different tissues in your body. This allows us, as practitioners of Functional and Integrative Medicine, to intervene early on and prevent tissue destruction.
Functional and Integrative Medicine is key in supporting autoimmunity. How does this science differ from traditional medicine?

- Identifies and correct any other imbalances
- Balances the Different Parts of the Immune System
- Glutathione (Oxicell)
- Glutathione Recycler
- Vitamin D

Other supplements may be used to correct (as much as possible) any other metabolic disturbances. However, your must remember that no supplement in the world can make up for a poor diet and lifestyle! Once these conditions are corrected, our goal is to get you off of these supplements and instead shape your diet and lifestyle to maintain your newfound health.
By definition, insomnia is a persistent disorder that can make it hard to fall asleep, hard to stay asleep or both, despite the opportunity for adequate sleep. There are many causes of insomnia that are often overlooked.
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) has the largest role in the sleep cycle. The ANS is the part of the nervous system that controls and regulates all of the activities that are unconscious to the human being: heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, circadian rhythm, etc. In other words, you do not have to think about digesting food or regulating blood pressure because it is done for you automatically by the brain. ANS dysfunction often causes sleep problems.
Other common conditions that affect sleep include the following: gastrointestinal dysfunction, adrenal fatigue, thyroid imbalance, traumatic brain injury, emotional and physical stress, and many others.
If you are struggling with sleep, you must first ask four very important questions.
- Do you have trouble falling asleep?
- You could have a poorly functioning gall bladder that needs support
- Do you have trouble staying asleep?
- You could have poor acid production within the stomach
- Are you groggy or experience difficulty getting out of bed in the morning?
- You could be suffering from adrenal fatigue
- Do you experience fatigue throughout the day?
- You could have a poorly functioning brain and autonomic nervous system along with adrenal fatigue
In order for you to heal properly from all of the stress and tissue injury sustained from normal daily living, sleep must occur and it must be deep REM sleep that leaves the body feeling energized the following day.
I would strongly encourage anyone suffering from sleep disturbance to have a thorough check to assess the true cause of your abnormal sleeping habits. If you suffer from insomnia or poor sleeping habits, please call us today and ask about a complete neurologic evaluation and a brain map (QEEG).
